What this site is

Legal Aid Navigator is a free, independent information website. It exists to help people in the UK — especially people who are stressed, in difficulty, or new to the legal system — understand where to find trustworthy legal help.

It was built as a plain-English signposting hub: a starting point that points you towards the right official body or charity, not a replacement for them.

What this site is not

Legal Aid Navigator is not a solicitor, a charity, or a government service, and it does not give legal advice.

We describe, in general terms, what kind of legal help and processes exist. We never tell you what your specific legal rights, entitlements, or outcomes will be — because that always depends on your individual circumstances, and only a qualified adviser who knows the details of your situation can tell you that.
